1 to 5

I got the chart made up so we can start working on counting to 5. I did print and color the rest for 6 to 10,but will wait a little bit for that.

My hope is with the shapes colors can be learned too. Would like the numbers to also teach animals.

I am not the most creative person nor do I have any artistic ability but I am sure the boys don't mind. LOL

Shapes

Working on teaching the boys shape. They are able to identify them when I ask them to point them out. Now just need them to start saying the names of them. They do say "star". Have a number and alphabet sheet I am working on to go on the wall too.

Bass Pro Shop

We ended up at Bass Pro Shop up in MA yesterday. I never knew it was such a fun place for kids. There are stuffed animals everywhere, real ones that have been stuffed. They have fish swimming around. The boys were loving it. Lucas called everything either a cat or a cow LOL Thinking at this point they would really enjoy the zoo. Pretty sure the ones around here are closed so going to see if there is one near where we are going for Thanksgiving. I think they would love it.

Sticker fun.

The boys really like stickers. I have a book of animal stickers they like to use. I like to use them so we can name each animal and talk about the sound they make. They are learning more sounds. I am working on getting them to place the stickers in specific areas and just not all over the paper. We did triangles before, today worked on circles. Hopefully that will help also with learning shapes. They did pretty well this morning. The only way I could get the stickers from them was to get them to color. Have found some fun coloring pages online to print out, including ones from some of their favorite shows like The Wiggles and Barney.

It is hard to decide what things to keep and what just to trash. I guess I can't keep everything they do. I would run out of room quickly.

I am wanting to work on their vocabulary more. Lucas has really started babbling a lot more, carrying on a conversation in which we have no idea what he is saying. I am worried about the number of words the boys have and the fact that they are not stringing words together. Really sometimes the internet is not a good thing.

Shape Matching

Tomorrow the boys will start to learn shape matching. Got the idea from a friend.
I took foam board and drew the shapes on there, then cut out of colored foam the shapes for them to match. I do hope they have fun. I think they will. They have a puzzle with 3 basic shapes on it and it is their favorite. I do hope this to be the start of color learning too.

Just feel bad that these poor boys are stuck with a mom who can't draw a straight line even when I am following a pattern. LOL

Tomorrow we will also be working on placing stickers inside of circles instead of randomly all over paper. They love stickers. Just have to get them to keep them on the paper once they pat them down. They do love ripping them up.

I will be making them a color book and animal flash cards for Christmas. They love animals and know a few of them but I feel the flashcards will help even more. This is just way too much fun!!

Guess this is turning into a craft blog....

More crafts this morning. I figure since the boys are not in daycare I can't have them falling behind. They love doing the crafts. Just have to figure out how to avoid the meltdown they both have when we are done. Decided this morning I need to start prepping in the evening. Was trying to cut out stars this morning and they were making it very hard.

I am figuring around 2 I will start adding in more learning. We were working on colors today when coloring trains with their markers. They were repeating the names of the colors, which is a start.

I got some Christmas stamps on sale for $1 each at the craft store the other day. Decided to use paint for them. Thinking I need to get ink pads as the paint doesn't just hit the parts of the stamp that stick out. They loved using the stamps, but most of the stamping they did just ended up looking like solid shapes of color.

Painting and feathers

We have a lot of fun doing crafts. Today the boys painted. The first time with brushes and paint that isn't finger paints. They did feather collages. Was starting out as turkeys with tracing their hands, but that did not go well at all LOL

Didn't get any pictures of them doing the feathers as my hands were covered in glue LOL
